Her story

A farming family, a grandfather, and a lifetime of colour.

With her Nana

Harpreet Kaur comes from a farming family in Punjab. Growing up, she was very close to her Nana (grandfather), and he remains the heart of everything she makes.

She dedicates her artwork to him. Each painting and each tea towel carries a little of where she comes from: the land, the family and the love that raised her.

She is grounded and close to nature, and three things return again and again in her art: water, the sky and Mother Earth. She also feels a special kinship with dolphins, gentle and curious creatures at home in the water.

She now shares her work with people here. When you take one of her pieces home, you are taking home a small part of that story.

Story shared by Elizabeth Jane Norton.
